It's always amazing to me that all the "New Things" often prophesied in the body in these last days.I haven't heard to much about Love.We fuss and fight judge a thing before the time.Patients among the saint has got low. Saint leave churches out of anger. The ministry of reconciliation is the church's. weapon warfare. Love conquers all. There in no faliure in love.We are made perfect in love.Perfect love cast out fear. Faith works by love. Our God is Love.We don't talk to much about it but congr… Continue
God Help Me to Turn This Corner! We all have those seasons where it seems that we are under attack from every direction. Shouldn't a decision to move for God be preceded by a wave of good fortune? Shouldn't all of the events that would happen to one who makes a decision to follow Christ be only rose-colored ones? Folks when you decided to make Jesus your choice, did you see that many days hence you would be under an attack that has become so severe? Well folks the Psalmist did pen in Psalm 34 ve… Continue

I went from having everything to having nothing, believing one day my dream would come true.
I wanted more than anything in the world to have my book published, I felt I had something to share with the world.
I had survived after the murder of my son.
I received a contract in May 2007, by July 2007, I was homeless.
I cried I couldn't understand, I had just received a contract and now I am homeless.
I refused to give up on my dream. My family told me to come back home, I said no.
I made a cho… Continue
Speaking Peace Amidst Life's Storms! All of us have had to deal with storms in our lives. I am not speaking about the atmospheric and weather related storms, but I am speaking of those times when life seems to move on you! We all have had those moments when we looked upward and even asked God those timeless words, "Why Me?" Yes we have each had those times when we felt like our heads, our bodies, and our entire lives were being bashed in by the hammer that we call life! Pain and disappointment h… Continue

When Tragedy Knocks At Your Door? Many of us are often taken by surprise by much that happens in life. Sometimes tragedy itself even finds its way to our door. My prayers are with any of you that have been snared by one or more of the many “gotchas” that life can throw one’s way! You are not alone there is no temptation taken you, but such that is common unto man! There is someone somewhere that has had it as bad as you have, and believe it or not there is someone that has had it worse. My praye… Continue

Lying Prophets, Spiritual Calisthenics, and a Whole Lot of Church Goings On?
I remember a heated argument that I had in the late 80’s with the late Dr. Khallid Abdul Muhammad on a basketball court! Dr. Muhammad (whom I esteemed as one of the 10 greatest orators of all-time) and I were friends up until his………………death!(I won’t comment on what I really think) He respected me for my views on Black Uplift, although he didn’t agree with some of my Christian Stances! He would push to sway me in the wa… Continue

It's Time Out for the Mind Games! In the Hebrew World of years gone by the word mind was often expressed as heart. Proverbs 4 verse 23 reads as follows Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. The word heart here meant mind. This scripture admonishes us to keep our minds with all diligence. This would suggest that keeping one's mind is work! The mind is the seat of one's intellect, so we should be on guard for the protection of our minds. This urgent plea in the af… Continue

My Job Has Pulled the Rug Out From Under Me! This is a cry that so many are saying on a daily basis. Many are wondering how can this job which I gave my all to for so many years pull the rug out from under me? One's jobs doesn't only provide income, for many it gives one a sense of identity and accomplishment. In this clima… Continue

PG Testimonies in a Rated R World? I was watching a video of Evangelist Lillian Lloyd singing One More Chance where she gives a view of sorts of her personal testimony. Her personal testimony is so up in your face. Why do the testimonies of the Saints always go by the way of the PG genre? Why do we have to hear about your new car, your new man, and your new house? What happened to testimonies of deliverance that we all used to hear about? Should we front and floss in the Halls of Grace as if we… Continue
I'm really in a time of reflection. After my churches last event I was really stunned at the cost of some of our popular christian music ministers. Between the performance fee, tranportation fees, airfare, the technical rider, dressing room and Food requirement it's hard sometimes to remind yourself " It's all about Jesus". I've been saved for real for 28 yrs. The Ministers seem alot more humble in the early 80's and 90's. Really!! Is it just me. I want the mind of Christ to lead us as we come to… Continue
Lord Heal Us All of Silent Frustration! I heard Bishop Jakes preach a message in the early 90's called Silent Frustration. He used the older brother from the parable of The Prodigal Son as the basis for the message. He noted that for all of the mistakes that the prodigal son made, there was a brother that stayed at home, but while staying at home this brother was suffering from silent frustration. Are many in this day silently frustrated? While everyone thinks that things are peachy king with ea… Continue

Lifestyles of the Rich and the Churchy? I was the transportation coordinator several years back for the late Bishop G. E. Patterson in the late 90's and early in this decade. During that time it was my responsibility to coordinate the safe arrival of Bishop Patterson's guests. Whether these were household names, or just those who where those that were endeared to Bishop Patterson that few others knew. I can say that I have met most of the big names on the Christian Circuit during this time. Bish… Continue
